Clem Rutter is professionally qualified in computing and teaching. He was an elected member of the Medway Council, representing the Frindsbury Ward for Labour. He served on the Education Committee and Leisure, Arts and Libraries Committees, and was beaten in 2003 on a on a boundary change. After working at Crown Woods School, Greenwich, he taught ICT in  Kent. His wide interests include graphics, genealogy, sundials, the language Logo and documenting obscure locations on Wikipedia commons.
